Kan Du Group is a 501(c)3 non-profit company serving the needs of adults with developmental disabilities. Kan Du Group, certified by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities, offers programming in life skills, creative development, vocational training, job placement and even retirement lifestyle.

In studio, Kan Du inspires creative development through making art and crafting. The primary focus is to utilize the creative process to help stimulate motor skills, self-expression, and the personal benefits of creating.

Kan Du’s culture is based on a can-do attitude, a mindset that inspires everyone to reach for the stars. A signature product of the studio is a painted metal star. This product has become well known in the Findlay area as an award that businesses aspire to receive.

The company culture and popularity of the Kan Du star, was the inspiration for the mural on the side of the Kan Du Group building. As a result, our community and all who visit can reach for the stars. The mural, designed by Kan Du Group’s Marketing Coordinator, Jodi Hassan and painted by Kan Du team members Lindsay Cervantes, Kelly Sparks and studio artists Brian R, Mia W-Y, and Stephen C.

The mural’s designer, Jodi Hassan studied art at the Columbus College of Art and Design, attended The Ohio State University, and holds a BFA from Ohio Northern University. She has served at Kan Du Group since 2014.
Studio artist, Brian R is an accomplished artist with multiple commissions and is a published illustrator. He loves music, art, and Sunday comics. He was inspired by his brother who went to school for commercial art, this intrigued and led Brian to pursue a childhood education degree!

Studio artist, Maia W-Y discovered Kan Du when she moved to the area. She state’s that it seemed like a nice place to do art, so she started coming to the studio. Her favorite subject to draw is people. Maia is extremely creative!
Stephen C is new to Kan Du and jumped at the opportunity to paint the mural.
This mural would have not gotten off the ground without the hard work and determination of Kan Du Group team member, Lindsay Cervantes. She is Kan Du’s LPN, CPR, BLS/ First Aid Instructor and Executive Assistant. She has served Kan Du since 2019.

Kelly Sparks assisted painting as well. Kelly is the Kan Du Transportation Coordinator. She has served Kan Du since 2018.
