Emily's mural is located at the Miracle Fields behind The Cube. The mural is closest to Miracle Park and is located on the exterior wall of the public restroom.

Inspired by Ohio's butterflies and the inclusivity of Awakening Minds Art programming, Emily's goal was to incorporate butterfly wings at varied heights in order to appeal to all heights of people, including those in wheelchairs. Everyone can pose in front of these wings as beautiful butterflies!

Ms. Emily Sullivan was hired by AMA in May of 2017 and continues to be an instructor and development director for the organization. In her free time, Emily enjoys painting. Visit her Art Page at https://www.facebook.com/emilysullivanart

Thank you to the volunteers who helped with this mural! Brittany Daniels, Melody Rinker (and kids), and the several children passing by who added a few brushstrokes of their own during the process--You all were a big help!!

What does the hashtag #artmakesmeconnected mean? "This week, working on the butterfly mural, with barely a layer of paint down, people stopped by to take pictures in front of the (unfinished) wings, chat about butterflies, and express their support. One neighbor said she was enjoying watching the progress on her binoculars from her house! Art, especially public art, unites us and gives people an opportunity to talk, question, and think. I love the idea of people interacting with my artwork while I'm not around and talking with me about it when I am." - Emily Sullivan
