Marissa Green's mural at The Fern Cafe is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Stop by The Fern Cafe, and enjoy some great food after you snap a selfie!

Marissa Green is a senior at Liberty Benton high school. She loves art, as well as traveling, music, and reading. The inspiration for this mural came from outer space, and the main idea that she wanted to capture was wonder.

"I think that viewing life through a lens of creativity and imagination can help make it a more colorful place, and when you're constantly looking for the wonder in ordinary things, it's easier to find joy in ordinary things. "

Special thanks to Mayor Christina Muryn for stopping by to assist!

What does the hashtag #artmakesmeconnected mean? "There will always be a feeling of belonging when I look at any given work of art. Art is such a human expression, and it is so encouraging to see people expressing themselves in the most creative ways possible. My mural makes me feel connected because it's something that I did in collaboration with Awakening Minds, the Fern, and all the lovely people who came out to help me with it." - Marissa Green

What does the hashtag #artmakesmeconnected mean? "It means so much more than a little phrase. It means coming together and understanding. It means looking over something and seeing the big picture. There’s more than what meets the eye. It’s a beautiful thing, where [art] completely just brings people together. " -Taylor Bowman, manager of The Fern Cafe
